solar decathlon stools
26Nov07
i made 2 of these folding barstools over the summer for the carnegie mellon solar decathlon team house. i wasn’t too happy with how they came out, so i never took very professional shots of them. this one image was shot on-site in washington dc by neha thatte, showing the unfolded chair. when folded up, the whole chair becomes a single slab of white oak, with two aluminum cross-pieces.

i am almost finished with a “real” version of this chair design, made out of ash, in regular seating proportions. i’ll post pictures after i give it one more coat of finish, hopefully by the end of the week.
